WARNING
- Failure to observe the warnings and instructions for proper use of the RCTA system could result in serious injury or death.
- The RCTA system is a driver-assistance feature and is not a substitute for safe reversing procedures. It is not designed to prevent contact with other vehicles or objects. When backing out of a parking space, always check the side and rear-view mirrors, turn and look in the direction the Mitsubishi Outlander will travel, and confirm that the path is clear. Never rely solely on the RCTA system.
The Rear Cross Traffic Alert [RCTA] system is designed to assist the driver when reversing out of a parking space. When the Mitsubishi Outlander is in reverse, the system monitors for vehicles approaching from either the left or right side behind the vehicle. If approaching cross traffic is detected, the system provides a warning to help draw the driver's attention to the potential hazard.
