When inspection, checking, or replacement of the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) fluid is required, Mitsubishi Motors recommends having the service performed by an authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealer.

CAUTION

  • Use only "Mitsubishi Motors Genuine CVTF-J4" or "Mitsubishi Motors Genuine CVTF-J4+" transmission fluid to help maintain proper CVT operation, durability, and performance in the Mitsubishi Outlander.
  • Do not use Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) or Manual Transmission fluid in a Mitsubishi Motors CVT. These fluids are not designed for the CVT and may cause transmission damage. Damage resulting from the use of fluids other than those specified is not covered by the Mitsubishi Motors New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
  • Using transmission fluid other than Mitsubishi Motors Genuine CVTF-J4 or Mitsubishi Motors Genuine CVTF-J4+ may also damage the CVT or affect its operating characteristics. Damage caused by the use of non-recommended fluids is not covered by the Mitsubishi Motors New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
