WARNING
- Use only fresh brake fluid from a sealed container.
Old, poor-quality, or contaminated brake fluid can damage components of the braking system. Using an incorrect type of fluid may also reduce braking performance and affect the stopping ability of the Mitsubishi Outlander.
- Clean the area around the brake fluid reservoir filler cap before removing the cap so dirt or other contamination does not enter the system.
- Brake fluid is poisonous. Store it only in properly marked containers and keep it securely out of the reach of children.
CAUTION
- Do not spill brake fluid on painted vehicle surfaces.
Brake fluid can damage the paint finish. If any fluid is spilled, rinse the affected area immediately and thoroughly with clean water.

Check the brake fluid level in the reservoir. If the fluid is below MIN line 2, or if the brake warning light illuminates, add MITSUBISHI MOTORS GENUINE BRAKE FLUID SUPER4 (DOT 4), or brake fluid conforming to DOT 3 or DOT 4 specifications, until the level reaches MAX line 1. Do not overfill the reservoir. If brake fluid needs to be added frequently, the braking system should be inspected because this may indicate a problem. It is recommended that you visit an authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealer for this service.
After checking or adding brake fluid, make sure the reservoir cap is tightened securely. A properly sealed cap helps prevent dirt, moisture, and other contaminants from entering the brake fluid reservoir.
