To check the window washer fluid level, place a finger over center hole 1 in the cap/tube assembly and remove the assembly from the reservoir. If no fluid remains visible in the tube, add washer fluid to the reservoir.
For improved windshield cleaning, use an appropriate washer solvent. During winter, use a windshield washer antifreeze suitable for freezing conditions and follow the product manufacturer's instructions for the correct mixing ratio.
Check and refill the window washer fluid reservoir periodically so sufficient fluid is available when needed.
Add washer fluid when the low washer fluid warning appears in the Mitsubishi Outlander.
The reservoir may need to be refilled more frequently when weather, road spray, mud, insects, or other driving conditions require increased use of the windshield washers.
Recommended fluid: Mitsubishi Motors genuine Windshield Washer Concentrate Cleaner & Antifreeze or equivalent.
CAUTION
- Do not fill the washer reservoir with inappropriate liquids.
Do not use soapy water, household glass cleaner, engine coolant, or similar fluids in place of proper windshield washer fluid.
Incorrect liquids may leave streaks or residue on the Mitsubishi Outlander, damage the washer pump, or clog the washer nozzles and prevent the system from spraying fluid correctly.
- If dirt or debris becomes lodged inside a washer nozzle, the washer fluid may not spray correctly onto the windshield. Do not attempt to clear the nozzle with a pin, needle, or similar object because the nozzle may be damaged. It is recommended that you contact an authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealer for service.
- Do not over-dilute windshield washer fluid during winter. An excessively diluted mixture may freeze on the windshield or inside the washer system when temperatures fall below freezing.
