WARNING

  • The heater and air conditioner operate only while the engine is running.
  • Never leave children, adults who normally require assistance, or pets unattended inside the Mitsubishi Outlander. They could unintentionally operate switches or controls and become involved in a serious accident. In warm or sunny conditions, the temperature inside a closed vehicle can rise rapidly to dangerous levels and may cause severe or potentially fatal injury to people or animals.
  • Do not use air recirculation mode continuously for extended periods. Prolonged recirculation can make the air inside the passenger compartment stale and may increase the likelihood of window fogging.
  • Do not adjust the heater or climate control settings while driving if doing so would distract you from safely operating the vehicle. Give full attention to driving the Mitsubishi Outlander.

CAUTION

  • Engine speed may increase while the climate control system is operating. On a vehicle equipped with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), the vehicle may creep more strongly at the higher engine speed than it would at a lower engine speed. Keep the brake pedal fully depressed when necessary to prevent unintended vehicle movement.

The heater and air conditioner provide normal climate control operation while the engine is running. The blower fan can also operate when the engine is stopped if the ignition switch remains in the ON position.

NOTE

  • Odors from both inside and outside the Mitsubishi Outlander can accumulate within the air conditioning system and may later enter the passenger compartment through the ventilators.
  • When parking the vehicle, set the heater and air conditioner controls so that air recirculation is turned off and fresh outside air can enter the passenger compartment.

Allowing fresh air to circulate through the interior can help reduce the buildup of unwanted odors inside the vehicle.
