WARNING
- Before driving, become familiar with the blind spots and viewing limitations of the frameless digital rearview mirror.
The system cannot display every object or area around the vehicle. Do not rely exclusively on the frameless digital rearview mirror. The driver remains responsible for checking the surroundings and operating the Mitsubishi Outlander safely.
- Do not disassemble, modify, or alter the frameless digital rearview mirror, rear camera unit, or associated wiring.
Improper modification could result in a malfunction, accident, or fire.
If you notice an unusual odor, smoke, or any other abnormal condition coming from the frameless digital rearview mirror, stop using the system immediately.
Contact an authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealer for inspection.
- Do not adjust or operate the frameless digital rearview mirror controls while driving.
Operating the system can distract the driver, reduce attention to the road, and potentially lead to loss of vehicle control, an accident, or serious injury.
CAUTION
- If the frameless digital rearview mirror malfunctions or does not operate normally, immediately switch the system to conventional rearview mirror mode.
- Do not stare continuously at the frameless digital rearview mirror display while driving.
- Prolonged attention to the display can distract the driver from surrounding traffic and may contribute to loss of vehicle control, an accident, or serious injury.
- Extended viewing of the digital display while the Mitsubishi Outlander is moving may also contribute to motion sickness or discomfort for some occupants.
- If strong light, such as direct sunlight or high-beam headlights from a following vehicle, enters the rear camera, bright streaks, glare, or other intense reflections may appear on the frameless digital rearview mirror display. If visibility becomes difficult, switch to conventional rearview mirror mode.
- Do not leave the frameless digital rearview mirror operating for an extended period while the engine is not running, as continued use may discharge the vehicle battery.
- Do not install or position the antenna of a wireless device close to the frameless digital rearview mirror.
Radio waves from nearby wireless equipment may interfere with the system and cause distortion or interference in the displayed camera image.
- Do not press the control buttons with excessive force or operate the mode select lever roughly. Improper handling could damage the controls, cause a system malfunction, or potentially loosen the frameless digital rearview mirror assembly.
- Never rotate the body of the frameless digital rearview mirror by 90º or more. Excessive rotation may damage the internal wiring connected to the mirror.
- Do not subject the frameless digital rearview mirror housing to strong impacts or shocks, as this may damage the unit or cause the system to malfunction.
- Do not place a heavy load on the rear camera or its protective cover. Excessive force may dislodge the camera, damage its mounting, or cause improper operation of the Mitsubishi Outlander digital rearview mirror system.
- If strong external light makes the frameless digital rearview mirror display difficult to see clearly, switch to conventional rearview mirror mode until visibility improves.
- When LED headlights from another vehicle appear in the frameless digital rearview mirror display, the image may appear to flicker. This is a normal characteristic and does not indicate a system malfunction.
- Reflections or scattered external light may also cause portions of the displayed image to flicker. This condition is normal and does not indicate a malfunction.
- Very fast-moving objects may not always be reproduced clearly on the camera display screen.
This is a characteristic of the display system and is not a malfunction.
- The image shown in digital rearview mirror mode (camera view mode) differs from the view provided by a conventional optical mirror. The apparent distance to objects shown on the display may differ from their actual distance. Do not rely exclusively on the digital rearview mirror when judging clearance or traffic conditions. Always check behind and around the Mitsubishi Outlander directly when necessary.
- Do not set the camera display brightness excessively high. An overly bright display can cause eye strain, particularly during extended driving. Adjust the brightness to a comfortable level appropriate for surrounding conditions.
- Use the rear window wiper when rain or water on the rear glass reduces the clarity of the camera image. If the image remains unclear while the rear window wiper is operating, inspect the rear wiper blade for deterioration.
- The image on the frameless digital rearview mirror display may flicker while the rear window wiper is operating. This is normal and does not indicate a malfunction.
