Condition A: Under the following conditions, the FCM system OFF warning light illuminates, the "Forward Driving Aids temporarily disabled Front Camera blocked See Owner's Manual" warning message appears in the multi-information display, and the system is automatically disabled.

  • The windshield area in front of the camera is covered with moisture, snow, ice, dirt, or another obstruction.
  • The camera area of the windshield remains continuously covered with dirt or similar material.

Action to take: Check the windshield area in front of the camera and make sure it is clean and free of ice, mist, or other material that could block the camera's view. If necessary, use the Max defogging/defrosting function to clear the windshield. Depending on conditions, this process may take several minutes.

Once the obstruction or visibility problem has been removed, the FCM system on the Mitsubishi Outlander will resume operation automatically.

Condition B: Under the following conditions, the FCM system OFF warning light illuminates and the "Driving Aids Temporarily limited Poor Visibility" warning message appears in the multi-information display.

  • Strong light is shining toward the front of the vehicle and interfering with the camera.
  • The windshield area in front of the camera is temporarily fogged or covered with dirt, water droplets, ice, snow, or similar material.

Action to take: When the condition interfering with camera visibility is no longer present, the FCM system will automatically resume normal operation.

Condition C: Under the following condition, the FCM system OFF warning light illuminates and the "Driving Aids temporarily limited Front Camera Too Hot" warning message appears in the multi-information display.

  • The interior temperature of the Mitsubishi Outlander exceeds approximately 40 ºC (104 ºF) while the vehicle is exposed to direct sunlight.

Action to take: When the passenger compartment temperature decreases sufficiently, the FCM system will resume automatically.

Condition D: Under the following conditions, the FCM system OFF warning light illuminates and the "Driving Aids temporarily limited" warning message appears in the multi-information display.

  • When the system check for the warning function does not complete normally.
  • When the vehicle is being towed.

Action to take: When the condition that caused the temporary limitation is no longer present, the FCM system will resume automatically.

Condition E: Under the following condition, the FCM system OFF warning light illuminates and the "Driving Aids Temporarily limited Radar interference" warning message appears in the multi-information display.

  • When the front radar sensor detects interference from another radar source.

Action to take: Once the radar interference is no longer present, the FCM system will automatically resume operation.

Condition F: Under the following condition, the FCM system OFF warning light illuminates and the "Forward Driving Aids temporarily disabled Front Sensor blocked See Owner's Manual" warning message appears in the multi-information display.

  • The radar sensor area at the front of the Mitsubishi Outlander is covered with dirt or otherwise obstructed.

If the warning light illuminates, move the vehicle off the road to a safe location and bring it to a complete stop.

Turn off the engine. Clean the radar sensor cover at the front of the vehicle using a soft cloth, then restart the engine. If the warning light remains illuminated after the sensor area has been cleaned, have the FCM system inspected. It is recommended that you visit an authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealer for this service.

Condition G: Under the applicable condition, the FCM system OFF warning light illuminates and the "Forward Driving Aids temporarily disabled Front Sensor blocked See Owner's Manual" warning message appears in the multi-information display.

Action to take: When the condition causing the temporary interruption is no longer present, the FCM system will resume operation automatically.

Condition H: When the Active stability control [ASC] system is switched OFF, automatic FCM braking is unavailable and the "Limited driver's aid ASC setting OFF" warning message appears in the multi-information display.

Action to take: When ASC is switched back ON, the FCM system will automatically become available again.

System malfunction

If the FCM system detects a malfunction, it switches off automatically, a warning chime sounds, the FCM system warning light illuminates, and the "Malfunction" warning message appears in the multi-information display.

Action to take: If the warning light comes on, stop the Mitsubishi Outlander in a safe location. Turn off the engine and then restart it. If the warning light remains illuminated after restarting the engine, have the FCM system inspected by an authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealer.
