Mitsubishi Outlander windshield wiper deicer switch and indicator light

The wiper deicer switch, also referred to as the defroster switch, can be operated while the engine is running.

The deicer is designed to warm the windshield area around the wiper blades and help release a wiper that has become frozen to the glass.

When the switch is pushed, indicator light A illuminates and the wiper deicer begins operating. Depending on the outside temperature, the deicer can remain active for up to 10 minutes. After the preset operating period has elapsed, the system switches off automatically. To stop the deicer before the automatic shutoff, push the switch again; indicator light A will turn off.

CAUTION

  • When cleaning the inner surface of the window, be careful not to scratch or damage the electrical conductors located on the glass.
