Example

Mitsubishi Outlander liftgate request switch used with the F.A.S.T.-key system

The F.A.S.T.-key system allows you to lock or unlock the Mitsubishi Outlander without removing the transmitter from your pocket, bag, or purse.

When you are carrying the registered transmitter within the specified operating range, all doors can be locked or unlocked by pressing door handle request switch A, if so equipped, or liftgate request switch B, if so equipped.

When the doors are locked or unlocked using a request switch, the hazard warning lights flash and the outside chime sounds to confirm that the requested operation has been completed.

Welcome light function

When the doors or liftgate are unlocked, the parking lights and tail lights illuminate for a limited period to provide exterior lighting around the vehicle. The welcome light function can be disabled if this feature is not required.

Locking doors (models with request switch)

1. Push the park button to shift the vehicle into the P (Park) position. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position and make sure you have the transmitter with you.

2. Close all doors completely.

3. While carrying the transmitter, push any door handle request switch A or liftgate request switch B.

4. All doors and the liftgate will lock.

5. The hazard warning lights flash once and the outside chime sounds once to confirm that the Mitsubishi Outlander has been locked.

NOTE

  • The request switches for all doors and the liftgate can be disabled by turning off the Ext. Door Switch setting in the Vehicle Settings menu of the multi-information display.
  • The doors cannot be locked using a door handle request switch while the ignition switch is not in the LOCK position.
  • If a transmitter is detected inside the vehicle, the doors will not lock using the door handle request switch and a warning beep will sound.

CAUTION

  • After locking the doors with a request switch, operate the door handles to confirm that all doors have been securely locked.
  • Before operating a request switch to lock the Mitsubishi Outlander, make sure the transmitter is in your possession so it is not accidentally left inside the vehicle.
  • A request switch can operate only when the F.A.S.T.-key system has successfully detected the transmitter within its operating range.

Unlocking doors (models with request switch)

1. While carrying the transmitter, push door handle request switch A or liftgate request switch B.

2. The hazard warning lights flash twice and the outside chime sounds twice. The corresponding door or the liftgate will unlock.

3. Push the request switch again within 2 seconds.

4. The hazard warning lights flash twice and the outside chime sounds twice again. All doors and the liftgate will then unlock.

After a request switch is used to unlock the Mitsubishi Outlander, all doors will automatically lock again after approximately 30 seconds unless one of the following actions is performed:

  • Any door is opened.
  • The ignition switch is pushed.

If the UNLOCK Mitsubishi Outlander F.A.S.T.-key transmitter UNLOCK button button on the transmitter is pressed during this 30-second period, the automatic relocking timer will restart and the doors will lock automatically after another 30 seconds if no door is opened and the ignition switch is not pushed.

NOTE

  • The unlocking sequence can be changed by selecting the selective unlock setting in the Vehicle Settings menu of the multi-information display.

Opening liftgate

1. Carry the registered transmitter with you and remain within the applicable F.A.S.T.-key operating range.

2. Push liftgate opener switch C.

3. The liftgate will unlock and then open, allowing access to the Mitsubishi Outlander luggage compartment.

Battery saver system

When all of the following conditions remain present for a period of time, the battery saver system automatically cuts off the applicable power supply to help prevent the vehicle battery from becoming discharged.

  • The ignition switch is in the ON position.
  • All doors are closed, and
  • The shift lever is in the P (Park) position.

Warnings and audible reminders

To help prevent unexpected vehicle movement caused by incorrect transmitter operation, and to reduce the possibility of vehicle theft, the Mitsubishi Outlander F.A.S.T.-key system uses warning chimes or beeps inside and outside the vehicle. A corresponding warning message may also appear on the multi-information display depending on the condition detected.

Whenever a warning chime or beep sounds, or a warning message appears on the multi-information display, check the condition of the vehicle and the location or status of the transmitter before continuing.
