WARNING
- Radio waves emitted by the transmitter may adversely affect certain electronic medical devices. Anyone who uses a pacemaker should consult the manufacturer of the medical equipment regarding possible effects before using the remote keyless entry system.
- The transmitter emits radio-frequency signals whenever its buttons are pressed. The FAA advises that these radio waves may affect aircraft navigation and communication systems. Do not operate the transmitter while aboard an aircraft, and make sure the buttons cannot be pressed unintentionally while the transmitter is stored during a flight.
CAUTION
- Do not allow the transmitter, which contains electronic components, to come into contact with fresh water or salt water. Exposure to moisture can interfere with proper system operation.
- Do not drop the transmitter or subject it to unnecessary impact.
- Do not strike the transmitter sharply against another object.
- Do not alter, modify, or disassemble the transmitter.
- Moisture may damage the transmitter. If it becomes wet, wipe it immediately and dry it thoroughly.
- If the outside temperature falls below 14ºF (−10ºC), the transmitter battery may not function normally.
- Do not leave the transmitter for an extended period in an area where temperatures exceed 140ºF (60ºC).
- Do not attach the transmitter to a key holder that contains a magnet.
- Do not place the transmitter near equipment that produces a magnetic field, such as a television, audio equipment, personal computer, or cellular phone.
NOTE
- On Mitsubishi Outlander models equipped with the door mirror folding switch, the outside mirrors automatically fold or extend when all doors and the liftgate are locked or unlocked using the remote keyless entry function.
This automatic mirror operation can be deactivated. Contact an authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealer for details.
The remote keyless entry function allows all door locks to be operated using the buttons on the transmitter. Under suitable conditions, the Mitsubishi Outlander remote keyless entry system can operate from approximately 40 ft (12 m) away from the vehicle. The actual operating distance may vary depending on conditions around the vehicle. The remote keyless entry function will not operate under the following conditions:
- When the transmitter is outside the effective operating range.
- When the transmitter battery is discharged or too weak to transmit a usable signal.
The remote keyless entry function can also be used to operate the vehicle alarm.

Transmitter button operation light

The transmitter operation light flashes whenever a button is pushed. The light only confirms that the transmitter has sent a signal; it does not confirm that the vehicle received the signal or completed the requested operation. Check visually or listen for the appropriate confirmation from the Mitsubishi Outlander to verify that the command was carried out. If the light does not flash when a button is pressed, the transmitter battery may be too weak to communicate with the vehicle and may need to be replaced.

In hazard indicator and horn mode, pressing the LOCK
