WARNING
- Failure to follow the warnings and instructions for proper use of the LDP system could result in serious injury or death.
- The Lane Departure Prevention system does not take over steering of the Mitsubishi Outlander and cannot prevent every loss-of-control situation. The driver remains responsible for staying alert, driving safely, keeping the vehicle within the travel lane, and maintaining control of the vehicle at all times.
- The LDP system is intended primarily for use on well-developed freeways and highways. Under certain road, weather, or driving conditions, the system may be unable to detect lane markings accurately or may not operate as expected.

The LDP system must be switched on using the MI-PILOT Assist switch on the steering wheel each time the ignition is placed in the ON position.
The Lane Departure Prevention system operates when the Mitsubishi Outlander is traveling at approximately 37 MPH (60 km/h) or faster and the lane markings are clearly visible. If the system detects that the vehicle is moving away from the center of the travel lane, it alerts the driver through an indicator and steering wheel vibration. The system can then provide brief steering assistance to the left or right to help guide the vehicle back toward the center of the lane.
The LDP system monitors the lane markings ahead using camera unit A, which is located above the inside rearview mirror.
