If the liftgate is lowered to a partially open position, the liftgate easy closer will automatically pull it into the fully closed and latched position.

Do not apply excessive force to the liftgate while the automatic closing mechanism is operating. Forcing the liftgate during this process may interfere with normal operation or cause the mechanism to malfunction.

WARNING

  • Be careful not to trap your hands, fingers, or other body parts while the liftgate easy closer is operating. If there is a risk of entrapment, operate one of the power remote liftgate switches or use the hands-free access function. The Mitsubishi Outlander power liftgate will return to the door-ajar position.

CAUTION

  • The liftgate automatically pulls itself closed from a partially open position. Keep hands, fingers, and other body parts away from the liftgate opening and latch area to prevent pinching injuries.
  • Do not allow children to operate the liftgate or its controls.
