Mitsubishi Outlander tonneau cover extended across the luggage compartment

The tonneau cover helps conceal items stored in the Mitsubishi Outlander luggage compartment, keeping the cargo area contents out of direct view from outside the vehicle.

To use the tonneau cover, pull the cover outward in direction 1, then insert both sides into guides 2 so the cover is supported across the luggage area.

Mitsubishi Outlander tonneau cover fasteners attached behind the second-row seats

To cover the luggage compartment completely, attach fasteners A on the front section of the cover to the back of the second-row seats as illustrated.

To remove the tonneau cover, first retract and stow the cover. Push the right end inward, then lift the right side of the stored tonneau cover out of the holder located near the rear pillar. Once released from the holder, remove the cover from the cargo area.

WARNING

  • Never place objects on top of the tonneau cover, regardless of their size or weight. During sudden braking or a collision, an object resting on the cover could be thrown forward and cause injury.
  • Do not leave the tonneau cover loose inside the vehicle when it is not properly engaged with its holder. An unsecured cover could move during driving or in an accident.
  • A child restraint top tether strap can be damaged if it comes into contact with the tonneau cover or unsecured cargo in the luggage compartment. Remove the tonneau cover from the vehicle or secure it correctly in the cargo area, and make sure all other cargo is also properly restrained. A damaged top tether strap may not protect the child correctly in a collision and could result in serious injury or death.

Storing tonneau cover

Mitsubishi Outlander tonneau cover stored in the underfloor luggage compartment

When the tonneau cover is not required, it can be stored in the underfloor luggage compartment so it does not take up usable cargo space.

Lift the luggage floor board to access the storage area, then place the tonneau cover into the designated compartment.

Insert the front section of the cover into space A as illustrated so the tonneau cover is positioned correctly for storage.
