NOTE
- If the sensor area becomes dirty or obstructed, stop the Mitsubishi Outlander in a safe location, remove any dirt or contamination from around the sensor area, and then restart the engine.
- If a warning message appears on the multi-information display, bring the vehicle to a safe stop, turn off the engine, and then restart it to determine whether normal system operation is restored.
- If the warning remains displayed after the engine has been restarted, the system may have a malfunction.
Normal driving is still possible; however, the vehicle should be inspected by an authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealer as soon as practical.
- In the following situations, the "Unavailable Side Radar Obstruction" warning appears on the multi-information display and BSW/LCA system operation is temporarily suspended:
- When the sensor surfaces or surrounding sensor areas are dirty.
- When rain, snow, dirt, or other material adheres to or covers the sensor area.
- If the system detects a malfunction, a warning is shown on the multi-information display and the affected system is automatically turned off.
When ABSA system temporarily unavailable
NOTE
- If a warning appears on the multi-information display, stop the Mitsubishi Outlander in a safe place, turn off the engine, and then restart it.
If the warning continues to appear after the engine has been restarted, the system may be malfunctioning.
Normal vehicle operation remains available; however, have the system inspected by an authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealer.
- In the following conditions, the "Currently Unavailable" warning appears on the multi-information display, a buzzer sounds, and ABSA system operation is canceled:
- When ASC is turned off.
- When the selected drive mode is SNOW, GRAVEL, or MUD.
- In the following condition, the "Unavailable Slippery Road" warning appears on the multi-information display, a buzzer sounds, and system operation is canceled:
- When ABS or ASC, excluding traction control (TCS), is activated.
To restore system operation after the condition has improved, turn off the MI-PILOT Assist switch and then turn the ABSA system on again.
- If the temperature inside the Mitsubishi Outlander becomes excessively high, such as after the vehicle has been parked in direct sunlight, a warning appears on the multi-information display, a buzzer sounds, and the system is canceled. To activate the system again, allow the interior temperature to decrease and then switch the system back on.
- In the following situations, the "Unavailable Side Radar Obstruction" warning appears on the multi-information display, a buzzer sounds, and ABSA operation is canceled:
- When the radar sensor area is dirty or obstructed.
- When rain, snow, ice, or similar material adheres to the radar sensor area.
- If the system malfunctions, the ABSA indicator on the multi-information display illuminates in orange and system operation is stopped.
