WARNING
- The BSW/LCA/ABSA systems are driver-assistance features and are not a substitute for proper driving procedures. They are not designed to prevent contact with other vehicles or objects. When changing lanes, always check the side and rearview mirrors, turn your head, and look in the direction you intend to move to confirm that the lane is clear. Never rely solely on these systems.
- The radar sensors have limitations in what they can detect. Under certain road, lane-marking, traffic, or weather conditions, the systems may not operate as expected. The driver of the Mitsubishi Outlander must always remain alert and take the necessary action to avoid a collision.
The BSW/LCA system helps alert the driver when another vehicle is detected in an adjacent lane during a lane change. The ABSA system provides similar warnings and can also assist the driver by applying steering control to help guide the Mitsubishi Outlander back toward the center of its travel lane.

The BSW/LCA/ABSA system uses radar sensors 1 installed near the rear bumper to detect vehicles traveling in adjacent lanes.
In addition to the rear radar sensors, the ABSA system uses camera 2 installed behind the windshield to monitor the lane markings of the Mitsubishi Outlander's current travel lane.
